Florentine or Venetian cutaway
The Venetian cutaway is rounded, as often found on 'jazz' guitars –The Florentine cutaway is pointed. The neck heel is faired into the cutaway so there is no edge to catch your fretting hand.
'Manzer Wedge' body
Linda Manzer first incorporated a 'wedge' body design in her 'Pikasso', made for Pat Metheny – it's noticeably more comfortable than a standard deep-bodied guitar. This does not change the guitar's tone.
The soundport gives the player more volume and more of the sound that the audience hears — it's a natural monitor. It's almost like being in front of the guitar even as you play it!
